Last December we had to abandon a presentation to the flooded streets of Hull. This morning the sun shone, so we went back.

Thanks to the ward managers and staff of Humber NHS Foundation Trust who accepted the invite from Jenni Jordan, Ward Manager of Westland’s (a 16 bed female unit…or is it 18?) and Tracy Flanagan, nurse consultant. We also ha OT’s, staff nurses and PICU and Rehab, so a good bunch all round.

The really nice part of the presentation was when I put up the slides about Keats Ward and their interventions. As Westlands is a female unit, this seemed particularly good.

A lady called Yvonne Flynn attended who is looking at safewards for a medium secure unit and a learning disabilities unit. I hope we get some links going on the website forum.

The only negative thing was the wonderful manager Gill “I like to touch my staff..” was off looking for a bariatric bed. You had to be there!
