Vote of thanks!

I had the enjoyable and pleasant task this morning of thanking the managers, wards and staff of South Essex Partnership Trust for their participation in Safewards. I was speaking at a conference they organised on clinical risk, and had the additional pleasure of jointly presenting with Catherine Rothon, Ward Manager on one of the Basildon wards that participated in the randomised controlled trial. I had a great time, met some lovely, enthusiastic and committed people, and got some good suggestions. I particularly liked one idea from the audience, which was the rename 'Discharge Messages' 'Goodbye Messages'. I was even more pleased when I heard that Safewards implementation was on the Trust's action plan, making them the 16th NHS Trust we know of in the UK to make a wholesale commitment to Safewards implementation.
