Green Parks House is a purpose built inpatient unit In Locksbottom in Kent. Part of Oxleas Trust, it is looking to introduce Safewards. Met with Naidoo Armoordon (Unit Manager/Modern matron) and staff from a number of wards.
Betts ward on the site is going to be the first to take the plunge. Again clear that some of the interventions can build on existing practice. They ward has a box of equipment used for relaxation groups that can be easily adapted for Calm Down Methods. Also, after work with service user group Research Net, there are a structure of staff-patient meetings that could incorporate Mutual Help. All in all, a very good use of a rainy day.
Best of luck to Ward Manager Edward and his staff, and look forward to seeing your progress on the forum.
